Whether you're an exhibitor or an attendee, you'll find answers here to questions you might have about the Western Farm Show
What's the best route to take to reach the American
Royal Complex?
The "best" route will depend on which direction
you're coming from and which interstate (I-70, I-29 or I-35) brings
you into Kansas City. Click on this interactive
map page for the Kemper Arena vicinity. Click
here for directions to the American Royal Complex.
The Wyoming Street Ramp off of the 23rd Street Viaduct is permanently closed. All parking lots A, B, C, D and North Lot will still be available and can be accessed from either Genessee St off of I-670 or Kansas Ave. to American Royal Drive. Caesar Chavez is open for traffic.
Where do I park?
The City of Kansas City MO charges $7 to park in lots
to the east and west of the Kemper Arena/American Royal Center. Reserved
and handicap parking is available at the south end of the building.
Private parking is also available nearby. In addition, landowners
near the American Royal Complex open their property for parking for
a similar fee. For details on the regular parking areas, see the Parking page.
How many exhibitors typically display at the Western
Farm Show?
In 2011, the show attracted over 500 different exhibitors
who occupied the entire American Royal Complex over 400,000 square
feet of floor space for you to explore! We expect a similar number
in 2012.
What types of exhibits will I see?
Virtually any product or service used in agribusiness,
ranging from farm implements and livestock equipment to seed and feed,
plus chemicals and computers. There's a lot to see for full-time, traditional
farmers as well as compact tractors and equipment for part-time, “lifestyle”
farmers. In addition, the Family Living Center features a wide assortment
of items for use in and around the (farm) home.
Can I bring my whole family?
Of course! Along with the attractions of all the tractors
and new equipment, informative seminars and the Family Living Center,
the Farm Show's festive atmosphere is fun for the whole family. See
the Scheduled Seminars and Programs page
for more information.
How much are tickets to the Farm Show?
An adult ticket is $8 or just $5 when you use a discount
coupon. To get a $3 discount coupon, go to a participating SouthWestern
Association dealer and retailer. Children 12 and under get in free.
So, with your tickets and a parking fee, you can enjoy the Western
Farm Show for about the same cost as going to a movie. See the Ticket
Information page.
Is everything out of the weather?
Yes, the exhibit area is completely indoors sheltered from
the elements, but with plenty of room for even the biggest, tallest
combines.
Is the complex accessible for those with disabilities?
Yes, both floors of the American Royal Complex are easy to
navigate for attendees with disabilities. The American Royal Complex
was completely remodeled in 1993, so the facility is fully accessible.
See the map of the Kemper Arena/American Royal Complex.
Is there food at the Farm Show?
Yes, you can visit the Blue Ribbon Café, a full-service
restaurant on the upper level at the north end of the exhibit hall.
You'll also find a number of fast-food concession stands. These serve
everything from nachos and hotdogs to fun foods such as cotton candy,
pretzels and ice cream.
